You are always in control and at anytime may resist, refuse to follow a suggestion, do exactly the opposite of what has been suggested or emerge from hypnosis entirely. The strength of your own mental desire decides that impact that hypnosis will have on you. Without your cooperation there can be no hypnosis. You actually hypnotize yourself. The hypnotherapist is merely a facilitator who guides you into the relaxed state.
